Overview

Defilade Protection Systems wanted to produce a video campaign introducing their Discreet Deployment System (DDS) — protective garments engineered for law enforcement officers requiring discreet blunt impact protection. Built with D3O® impact pads, flame-resistant four-way stretch fabrics, and multiple garment models, the DDS provides protection that can be worn under uniforms without restricting movement or adding bulk.

Challenge

The challenge was to communicate the DDS’s technical performance and model options in a way that was both clear and operationally relevant. Defilade needed content that emphasized its low-profile design, integration with armour systems, and dependability of D3O® padding, while showing that it remains comfortable and discreet during real-world use.

Solution

To meet this need, I developed a content package that balanced product detail with field context:

• Hero Overview Video – showcasing the DDS as an innovative, discreet protection solution.

• Feature Shorts – highlighting garment variations such as the PG1-Top (with chest/back D3O® pads) and the PG4-Shirt (compatible with soft armour/ballistic vests while protecting arms and shoulders).

This mix allowed Defilade to present the versatility of the DDS across multiple channels, from social media and trade shows to direct agency briefings.

Execution

The production combined studio-style interview segments with product close-ups, training b-roll, and on-screen text callouts. This approach ensured that each garment’s features were clearly explained while still being shown in practical, tactical scenarios.
